Seattle · builds things · develops people

I help people do hard things and build systems that make it easier.

I am an engineering and operations leader who turns the abstract and overwhelming into an actionable plan. I write about it, build software for it, and point the way for the people doing the work.

Building

Slack agents that act as a Chief of Staff, learning what matters and keeping it moving.

Reading

A rotating shelf of useful books. Right now, one on the craft of feedback.

Off the clock

At the YMCA, where I work out and serve on the board. The gym is where I think.

Projects

A few of the things I've built.

A selection, not a scoreboard. Each one solved a real problem or came from something I care about, and together they show how I think.

The big one
Indisea Software

Co-founded it and reviewed the first lines of code. Today a team ships software that opens new markets for customers, which helps them grow their revenue.

About

A builder who cares about people.

I have spent years leading engineering and operations teams, by believing in people and helping them do things they did not think they could. I tell stories, solve problems, and get out of the way once someone has the path.

Outside work you will find me at the gym, on the YMCA board, or in the daylight basement I remodeled myself.
